“Obesity Is Dangerous… Do you Agree?”

Not only can it lead to diabetes, hypertension and many other health issues, people who are overweight or obese are more likely to die sooner from various causes than those with healthy weight.

Two-thirds of Americans and at least half the people in many developed countries are now considered overweight or obese.

Previous studies have documented higher death rates in the obese, while being inconclusive about the risks of being overweight. The research, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, pooled the results of 19 studies and excluded smokers to provide precise estimates of increased death risks.

The analysis looked at people’s body mass index, or BMI, a measure of weight based on height. They also identified a sweet spot that they found was healthiest, a BMI between 20 and 24.9. To be in that category, people who are 5-feet 5-inches tall should weigh between 120 and 149 pounds and people who are 5-feet 10-inches should weigh 140 to 173 pounds.

Weighing more than your BMI measure of weight, can put you into the overweight category and starts increasing health risk and problems that can lead to death.

“Aretha Franklin Had Gastric-Bypass Surgery”

The legendary Queen of soul, Aretha Franklin feels like a new woman one day after undergoing a successful gastric bypass/weight loss surgery.

“The surgery was highly successful,” Aretha said in a statement to Access Hollywood following the procedure. “God is still in control. I had superb doctors and nurses whom were blessed by all the prayers of the city and the country. God bless you all for your prayers!”

Franklin, 68, had the surgery yesterday following a Prayer vigil organized by the City Council in her hometown of Detroit, MI.

Last month, Franklin cancelled all concert dates and personal appearances through May due to undisclosed medical reasons.

“Did This Heifer Raise Her 1 Million For AIDS?”

The singer was highly criticized by her followers on Twitter.com Wednesday, after she broke her own vow not to tweet until she had raised $1 million for AIDS research.

Alicia Keys rocked a tight black dress at an event for The Cinema Society on Wednesday night, displaying a remarkable post-baby body less than two months after giving birth.

Keys tweeted a number that her followers could text to “buy” her life back. But apparently, her followers didn’t care if she came back to life or not.

Therefore, she deleted her tweets once her followers protested.

So is she really serious about her cause?

The poorly received ‘Dead Celebrities’ campaign, featuring stars such as Serena Williams and Ryan Seacrest lying in open caskets, has raised less than $100,000 so far.

“Save The Date – Jesus Is Coming In May?”

Is the billboard caption on 40 billboards around Nashville, TN, proclaiming May 21, 2011, as the date of the Rapture. These same billboards are up in eight other U.S. cities as well.

A nationwide Christian network, paid for the billboards.

The network’s founder, Harold Camping, this man has a cable show and he looks and talk just like something out of tales from the crypts; well anyway he’s predicting the May date for the Rapture.

Since one day equals 1,000 years for God, that means there was a 7,000-year interval between the flood and rapture.

“We hope that anyone would get a Bible out and try to prove that this is wrong,” he said.

To spread their message, Family Radio is also sending out caravans of RVs across the country, with the Rapture message.

One should make its way to Nashville after the first of the year. They’re sending missionaries around the world to hand out tracts.

But he thinks only a small number of people — about 3 percent — will take the billboards seriously.

What are your thoughts? I’d like to know…

“They Are All Dead Today – For A Cause”

Singer and new mom Alicia keys joined a host of celebrities who are helping to raise money for AIDS research by suffering a ‘digital death’ which involves them logging off their Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites for 24 hours today (Wednesday, Dec. 1).

Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Kim Kardashian, P. Diddy, Jennifer Hudson, Ryan Seacrest, Elijah Wood, Serena Williams, Jay Sean, Swizz Beatz and more, make beautiful corpses while lying in their coffins in a series of ghastly portraits released by the Worlds AIDS organization.

In my opinion, I think it’s too much!

The stars logged offline on Tuesday, Nov. 30, and will not sign back on until $1 million has been raised for Alicia Keys’ Keep A Child Alive foundation.
