Murder, Mystery, Rap group, Run DMC, Unsolved

10 Years Later and Jam Master Jay’s Murder Still Unsolved

They are Hip-hop pioneers who gave class and purpose to a real rap era. They didn’t grace the stage with their pants down around their buttocks, spitting foul language in their lyrics either. Run DMC was bigger than life and true to form on stage.

The duo two of Run-DMC are back on tour and this is their first without the back beat of the group, DJ Jam Master Jay whose real name is Jason Mizell. Mizelle was murdered 10 years ago, the night before Halloween and his killer or killers; have yet to be brought to justice.

Mizell’s murder is shrouded in mystery and lack of cooperation by witnesses, as the NYPD remains frustrated that the 2002 execution-style murder of the hip-hop star, remains unsolved “10 years later”.

“We never really had a good lead,” the case’s head detective, Vincent Santangelo said, and “Nobody would or nobody could tell us the who or what and we’re still looking for that person.”

Law enforcement sources, who at one time worked the case, said the people inside Mizell’s 24/7 recording studio provided a play-by-play account of the Oct. 30, 2002 murder but everyone stopped short of identifying the gunman or his sidekick.

But here is what investigators were told:

After packing some equipment for a show in Philadelphia the next day, Mizell got a bite to eat and took a seat on a couch at the rear of the studio. His pal, Uriel (Tony) Rincon, sat next to him and the pair began playing a video game.

Mizell placed a .45-caliber pistol on the arm rest.

A short time later, Mizell’s assistant, Lydia High, entered the cramped studio to go over his itinerary. High’s brother, Randy Allen – Mizell’s longtime pal and business partner – soon came in with two friends, but they shut themselves in the control room at the front of the studio.

Everyone had been in the room for less than an hour when a man dressed in black, possibly wearing a hat, stepped in and gave Mizell a hug about 7:30 p.m. But after the short embrace, the man pulled out a .40-caliber handgun.

“Oh, shit,” was all a witness heard Mizell say before a shot rang out.

The bullet pierced Rincon’s left leg. Then, a second shot hit Mizell in the head, killing him before he hit the floor.

The killer and his accomplice, who was standing outside the door, both sprinted out of the two-story building and disappeared.

Run, DMC kicked off a tour last month with their back bone Jam Master Jay. The rapping trio were responsible for platinum-selling hits which brought hip-hop to the mainstream with hits like “It’s Tricky” “King of Rock” and a remake of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way”.
Breast cancer awareness month, Conversations Of A Sistah, Tracy L. Bell, What she said

Tonite on “Conversations Of A Sistah” What does the color PINK mean to you?

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and since its inception more than 25 years ago, it has been at the forefront of promoting awareness of breast cancer that has evolved on a national dialogue. And although many great strides have been made in breast cancer awareness and treatment, there remains much to be accomplished.

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.

In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Susan G. Komen is the boldest community fueling the best science and making the biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure, we have invested almost $2 billion to fulfill our promise, working to end breast cancer in the U.S. and throughout the world through ground-breaking research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs in more than 50 countries.

So what does the color pink mean for you? The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. Pink ribbons, and the color pink in general, identify the wearer or promoter with the breast cancer brand and express moral support for women with breast cancer. Pink ribbons are most commonly seen during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

But for those women who are survivors or live with the scars of breast cancer daily, they have to live way beyond the month of October.

Join me Thursday at 8:00 PM live on “Conversations Of A Sistah” on “Conversations Live” as we acknowledge breast cancer awareness, where my guest will be; the Rev. Mable Grier (pictured right above), who is a wife, minister, mother of four beautiful adult daughters, grandmother and breast cancer survivor six years now.

Drama, Hot Mess, Reality Television, Whitney Houston

The Houston’s “On Our own” Airs tomorrow at 9:00PM

Whitney Houston was the star and Whitney Houston was the legend, therefore I’m not interested in the private and personal lives of her family. I will always be a Whitney Houston fan but still not interested in her family’s reality television show.

And in spite of Whitney Houston being out of the equation, Lifetime television has apparently inked this deal for a reality show starring Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, her grandmother Cissy Houston, her uncle Gary, his wife Pat and their daughter Rayah.

Although the Houston’s deny this reality show as exploiting the late singer’s death in order to make a profit, their claim is that Whitney was “onboard” with the show prior to her death last February.

“The Houston’s: On Our Own” which airs tomorrow night, will reportedly confirm Bobbi Kristina’s engagement to Nick Gordon; a young man who lived with she and her mother Whitney, supposedly raised as her brother and is now in the picture as the love of Bobbi Kristina’s life.

The anticipated show, which will follow the lives of the Houston family, released a series of clips from the show’s sneak peaks into the trials that come with trying to raise Whitney Houston’s only daughter especially as she tries to walk through life without her mother. In viewing clips for the upcoming show, it is painfully obvious that Bobbi Kristina’s had no discipline growing up with her mother.

I’m sure this show will be packed with plenty of drama!

New Movie Release, News, Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry is Alex Cross!

Tyler Perry took off the dress for a minute in a command performance as Alex Cross, the man is both multi-talented and impressive in such a dramatic role as a doctor and detective. Perry proved that his talents go far beyond the character “Madea” that he’s made so famous.

Tyler Perry plays a young homicide detective/psychologist Alex Cross who meets his match in a serial killer. The two face off in a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, but when the mission gets personal, Cross is pushed to the edge of his moral and psychological limits.

Edward Burns plays Cross’ sidekick in the film and his character grows a little unrealistic and unbelievable to the point that, Burns is clueless as Cross (played by Perry), is the constant crime solver on every point of incident in the film. Tyler Perry is definitely the breakout star.

I give the movie 10 thumbs up, it’s a must see in my opinion.
