“Don’t Choose Regret” Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Sean “Puffy” “P-Diddy” Combs mourned the loss of his “best friend” Kim Porter by posting a video that showed the 2 of them embracing during an Essence photo shoot back in 2006.

The 46-year-old, who is mother to three of Diddy’s kids, was found dead in her bed of an apparent heart attack at her home in Toluca Lake, California on Thursday, Nov. 15, after reportedly battling the flu and pneumonia.

“For the last three days I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t,” Combs wrote in the video caption on Sunday.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our un-explainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER SHIT!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love.”

Regret seems to be a fact of life: the one who got away, the job you didn’t take, the fight you wish you hadn’t had, the choice of the wrong school, the investment you didn’t make, the money you didn’t save, the move you wish you’d made, and on and on and freakin on. That’s the predictability of life; there will definitely be something along the way you will wish you’d done differently.

Regret can be big – They can occur daily, or you can have everlasting ones that just seem to color everything you do. But what about those life choices we can control in order to avoid living a lifetime of regret?

Will this be the case with Sean “Puff Daddy – P-Diddy” Combs?

After all he never married Porter, as his cheating on her during their very public relationship played out in the press. Is it possible his public acknowledgement and adoration for his best friend and soul mate an expression of guilt and regret?

When should the past, be the past? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Don’t get me wrong the past should neither be forgotten nor accepted, it should be “a thing“ to be treasured and lessons to be learnt and then you MOVE ON.

Those who choose to simply forget the past miss out on its fullest potential, good, bad or indifferent. There are valuable lessons to be learned from it. And those who choose to ask the right questions about their past are most prepared to live life to the fullest in the present. Too many of us live our lives defined by the choices we made in the past. This shouldn’t be the case, especially since each new day presents a brand new opportunity to become a new person on a new road destined for a new future.

We must be mindful of the company we keep and the cultures we function in because they will either bring us inspiration or derail our progress. Derailed progress, stomps growth!! And when we have no direction, we tend to look back on the past.

So, when should the past be left in the past? And are there some things we should refuse to remember?

The Love & Hatred For President Donald Trump Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Last week Rap artist, turned fashion designer Kanye West made a visit to the oval office at the White House. Invited by President Donald Trump himself, West professed his undying love and utmost respect for the president and all hell broke loose in the media. Social media especially. Saturday Night Live mocked them, while the media made a spectacle of Kanye’s rant, word for word. During his 10 minute rant in front of Trump and reporters, Kanye talked about everything from Democrats, single parent households, and Hillary Clinton.

Many politicians have this kind of cult of personality, but Trump’s is so feverish and all-encompassing that it’s particularly exhausting. And the hatred he inspires is so intense; it’s crushing in its divisiveness. It’s OK to like or dislike some things the president does or says but not others.

The president has done much damage to our country’s ability to come together for the common good and has jeopardized the pursuit of truth in his words and actions. However, we as a people don’t see the same things.

Why Women Don’t Come Forward With Sexual Assault Tonight on Conversations Of A Sistah

How come some women don’t come forward with sexual assault?

And is there a double standard?

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh faces sexual assault allegations that throw his confirmation, once seen as inevitable, into complete turmoil. Christine Blasely Ford said that the nominee for the Supreme Court, Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, sexually assaulted her when they were in high school. Of course he has denied the accusations. This happened in high school, yet the victim is speaking out now. So the question is, why Women don’t come forward with sexual assault when it happens?

In the meantime, comedian Bill Cosby was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison on Tuesday, completing the famed actor and comic’s spectacular fall from one of America’s most beloved entertainers to disgraced sex offender. The accusations against him span over decades.
