He refused to Salute the flag, what’s the issue? on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Kaepernick, 28, sparked controversy when he sat through the national anthem at a preseason game this weekend.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people,” he said after the game.

The quarterback remained defiant amid the firestorm of criticism directed his way after the 49ers loss to the Green Bay Packers on Saturday.

Kaepernick said nothing is going to change as long as there is injustice and police brutality toward black people in America.

“I’m going to continue to stand with the people that are being oppressed,” said Kaepernick, who is biracial and was adopted by white parents.

“To me this is something that has to change. When there’s significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it’s supposed to represent, this country is representing people the way that it’s supposed to, I’ll stand.”

Even though he risks being cut by the team for his stance, Kaepernick says the message he is sending is very necessary.

“No one’s tried to quiet me and, to be honest, it’s not something I’m going to be quiet about,” he said on Sunday. “I’m going to speak the truth when I’m asked about it. This isn’t for look. This isn’t for publicity or anything like that. This is for people that don’t have the voice. And this is for people that are being oppressed…”

Kaepernick criticized the lax hiring process for cops in America.

“You can become a cop in six months and don’t have to have the same amount of training as a cosmetologist,” Kaepernick said. “That’s insane. Someone that’s holding a curling iron has more education and more training than people that have a gun and are going out on the street to protect us.”

And since the recent murders of Philandro Decastro, Alton Sterling and host of others, from Ferguson Missouri to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, each and all, were black men or woman who died at the hands of police.

The Proverb states: “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he,” which speaks and holds the key to every condition, good or bad, that enters into your life, and that, by working patiently and intelligently upon your thoughts, you may remake your life, and transform your circumstances. Any circumstance can be transformed with the knowledge and power of the right thoughts.

You do not attract what you want, you attract what you are! A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts, if he is negative he will think negative and herald negative results and outcomes. You can’t be anxious to improve your circumstances, but unwilling to improve yourself, by therefore remaining bound.

Protest but No Plan, Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Since the senseless murders of two unarmed black men at the hands of police, the outrage has sparked protesting and demonstrations across the country.

The death of Alton Sterling, a 37-year-old father-of-5 was selling CDs outside a Baton Rouge convenience store when he was killed by 2 cops early last Wednesday. And 32-year-old Philando Castile, a Minnesota cafeteria worker who was shot to death on Wednesday by a milquetoast cop during a routine traffic stop.

We’ve seen such tragedies far too many times, and people are angry and outraged because “enough is enough!”

The cries for justice has been ignored far too long! So what is the clear path to justice? What are the steps for action and purpose of these many demonstrations that have been taken to the streets?
