“70 Years After Brutal Rape Alabama Law Makers Apologize”

Recy Taylor (pictured here), was raped by a gang of white men 70 years ago, and leaders of the rural southeast Alabama community where it happened apologized for the mishandling of that case on Monday. They acknowledged that her attackers escaped prosecution because of racism and an investigation bungled by police.

Taylor, 91, who now lives in Florida, did not attend the news conference but her 74-year-old brother Robert Corbitt, who still lives in town, was front and center and said he would relay the apology to his sister…

What happened to my sister way back then … couldn’t happen today,” he said. “Boy, what a mess they made out of it. They tried to make her look like a whore when she was a Christian lady.”

Taylor who was 24, married at the time and living in her native Henry County of Abbeville when she was gang-raped, was walking home from church when she was abducted, assaulted and left on the side of the road in an isolated area.

Two all-white, all-male grand juries declined to bring charges against the perpetrators for the crime and in 2011, 70 years later the county where she lived apologizes?

If I were Ms. Recy Taylor, I would sue (the shit!!!) out of that county, from the lawmakers to the grandchildren or next of kin to the men who raped her. A hefty sum of money would be give me the satisfaction of knowing, that they were truly sorry for such an injustice.

Police: “Wyclef Jean was not shot… he cut his hand on glass”

Not long after news broke early Saturday that Fugees frontman Wyclef Jean had been shot in Haiti, Twitter.com users began expressing doubts about the story.

Details were sketchy at first, but then Wyclef released photos of himself reclining on a bed in a Haiti clinic, his left hand resting dramatically on his forehead while his right hand was wrapped in a bandage. Another photo shows Jean sitting on the side of a bed, a blood soaked gauze covers his right palm — hardly a spot that is normally grazed by a bullet.

Wyclef spoke to the AP and other media outlets before casting his vote in the presidential election. He said he was stepping out of a car with his entourage, which included the rapper Busta Rhymes, when suddenly a shooter opened fire on him.

He said: “The way I can explain it is that the bullet grazed me in my right hand. I heard blow, blow, blow and I just looked at my hand.”

But Haitian police accuse Wyclef of fabricating his story to bring attention to his candidate.

“We met with the doctor who saw him and he confirmed Wyclef was cut by glass,” said Vanel Lacroix, police chief in Petionville where Jean is staying.

“Woman Charged With The Murder Of Her Co-Worker”

Brittany Norwood, 27 (pictured here), is charged with killing her co-worker, 30-year-old Jayna Murray. Norwood tried to cover the murder up by telling police, two masked men had entered the store where they worked in Bethesda, MD the night before and attacked and sexually assaulted them.

But the next morning, another store employee found Jayna Murray dead inside the shop and Norwood injured and bound.

After six days of investigation police now believe that neither woman were sexually assaulted and that Norwood killed Murray following some sort of dispute.

Maryland police were initially inclined to believe Norwood’s account of what happened but her description of the attack didn’t match with forensics and medical evidence police recovered from the scene. Only two sets of footprints were found inside the store, contradicting Norwood’s account that more people were inside. Also workers at the adjacent Apple store reported hearing two women arguing.

Blood and forensics evidence believed to be connected to Norwood were also found inside Murray’s car several blocks from the store in a busy Bethesda shopping district.

Authorities said Murray died of blunt force trauma and stab wounds and no evidence that anyone else was involved in the killing was evident at the time, but the investigation is ongoing.

Norwood was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree murder.

“BREAKING NEWS: Wyclef Jean Shot In Haiti”

Haitian hip hop star Wyclef Jean just got shot in Delmas Haiti. This news just came in from Haiti, armed gunmen opened fire at Wyclef’s car. Jean was in the car with Busta Rhymes, Jimmy Rosemond and other members of his entourage. No other passengers in the vehicle were injured.

Pras confirms on Twitter: Yes they shot Wyclef and he’s in the hospital and he’ll be fine. They just shot his hand.

Wyclef is in stable condition and is currently being treated in Haiti Hospital for his wound. Minutes before election day and this is going to be the highlight of tomorrow’s election.

It’s being said that Jimmy Rosemond is the same dude who was implicated in the Tupac Shakur shooting case? Hmmm soundy sketchy to me.

“Clifton H.S. Principle Resigns Amid Sexual Misconduct”

I am shocked having learned that Clifton High School, in Clifton, New Jersey even had an African-American principal., and that is simply because, Clifton, New Jersey is known to be a predominantly white/caucasian area.

But four months after the mother of two high school students filed civil lawsuits against the school district and Principal Jimmie Warren (pictured above), the embattled principle has now resigned from his job.

Warren’s lawyer Barry Kantrowitz said, his client’s departure as school principal is in no way an admission of guilt to the charges.

“He’s maintaining his innocence. He will continue to do that,” “Eventually, when someone has the opportunity to cross-examine the complainant, the truth will come out.” Kantrowitz said.

The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Newark, claimed that Warren, 66, asked the woman to perform sexual acts in exchange for helping her children with school. The principal scheduled one of their meetings in a hotel room where he stripped down, the woman alleged.

In early December, the woman alleged that Warren exposed his private parts to her and touched her breasts during meetings to discuss her son.

The case is currently being held for grand jury review, which will determine whether to indict Warren and send him to trial, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office. No dates have been scheduled for a trial as of yet.
