Have a Healthy Thanksgiving By Adding These Foods

With Thanksgiving being celebrated around the world tomorrow, families everywhere will sit down and feast on a traditional Thanksgiving dinner (with their favorites) of turkey and all the trimmings.

Registered dietician Ellie Krieger has seven superfoods that can help you see better, increase your energy and make your skin look more youthful.

Krieger recently appeared on ‘Inside Edition‘ with Deborah Norville where she explained the benefits of eating healthy by including these 7 superfoods in your holiday meals.

Superfood #1: Kale

“Kale is great for your eyes because it has lutein that can help your eyes and prevent damage from aging.” Sauté it or throw it in a salad.

Superfood #2: Dried cherries

“Especially tart cherries. Interestingly, they contain melatonin which has been shown to help regulate sleep patterns.” They’re great as a snack or toss them in a salad, pancakes or muffins.

Superfood #3: Salmon which is loaded with omega-3 fats. (One of my favorites)

“Omega-3 fats reduces the inflammation in the body. So inflammation is thought to be at the root of many diseases, including heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, even cancers. Fresh salmon costs about $20 per pound. You can get a can of salmon which will run you about $4 per pound and it has all the omega fats.”

Superfood #4: Mangoes

“Mangoes are  great for your immune system. They have about 80% of your Vitamin C requirement in just one cup.”

Superfood #5: Pinto beans

“Pinto beans are one of the highest antioxidant contents of any beans, and you know what? They cost .13 cents a cup.”

Superfood #6: Sweet potatoes

“Sweet potatoes, great for your skin. The orange in them, the thing that makes them orange is beta-carotene, which is a form of Vitamin A, and this powerful antioxidant vitamin targets the skin. So it specifically can help prevent damage from the sun, which causes wrinkling and so on.”

Superfood #7: Almonds

“They have  protein, healthy fat, and fiber. Those things combined can help keep your energy up all afternoon,” said Krieger.

None of these are expensive or hard to prepare.

“Wife Sells Her Husband On Craigslist”

“Easy to maintain, just feed and water every 3-5 hours,” reads Alyse Bradley’s ad on Craiglist’s under the “Free Stuff” section. Alyse also added “He enjoys eating and playing video games all day.”

Alyse Bradley posted the ad as a joke in her local newspaper, offering her 22-year-old husband, Kyle Bradley, to the highest bidder. Alyse’ husband Kyle recently returned home to Utah from Afghanistan after he sustained a back injury, and told ABC 4 News that gaming is one way he stays connected to his military friends.

Alyse got a wave of responses though. Some people emailed her out of serious concern for the couple’s marriage, while others made some serious offers, including a blue bag of Skittles. Some men even offered their replacement services saying: “I’m housebroken, I’m trained, and will trade places with him”

Okay so Alyse doesn’t really wanna sell her husband on Craigslist, but she is however annoyed by the fact that, he plays the video game “Modern Warfare 3” all day; while ignoring her and not having a job.

Either way, I don’t find her gesture funny.

Doctor Arrested For Injecting Butt Implants With Fix-A-Flat

A transgender woman in South Florida faces charges of practicing cosmetic surgery without a license, after police say she injected an unwitting patient’s buttocks with a handful of unsafe substances, including tire mender Fix-A-Flat.

The botched butt implants sent the unidentified woman (pictured above) to the hospital, and landed Oneal Ron Morris, who is legally identified as a man, in cuffs. Miami Gardens Police arrested Morris, 30, on Friday, following an investigation by the Florida Department of Health.

The unidentified woman pictured above paid seven hundred dollars ($700.00) and had her procedure take place in May of 2010. The injection took place in a residential setting, where Morris shot a mixture of cement, glue, mineral oil and tire sealant into the woman’s buttocks, a short time later, the woman developed very serious pains in her abdomen and throughout her body.

The woman was rushed to Tampa General Hospital, where she was treated for infection and pneumonia, but would not divulge the ‘so-called’ doctor’s name, according to reports.

Hospital officials contacted the Dept. of Health, but it took investigators months to track Morris down, who is now behind bars for his illegal practicing of cosmetic surgery.

Dwight “Heavy D” Myers Laid To Rest

Heavy D was remembered yesterday through laughter and tears at a funeral service held at Grace Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, NY. Heavy D’s longtime friend Sean Combs shared stories about he and Heavy:

“He became my friend. He became my brother, and I’m not talking about friend-brother like we cavalierly use the word, I’m talking about a real friend, a real brother,” Combs said. “Somebody I shared my dreams and my secrets with, somebody that’s been there for me at my lowest point, my darkest hour when nobody wanted to be beside me.”

Words of encouragement to Heavy’s family and for his young daughter, was delivered in a letter from President Barack and Michelle Obama.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. He will be remembered for his infectious optimism and many contributions to American music. Please know that you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers”

Xea Myers, Heavy D’s 11-year-old daughter, also spoke briefly, telling the audience that her father was “still here, not in the flesh, but in the spirit.”

Grace Baptist Church was filled to capacity for the two-and-half-hour service, which was also streamed live on the Web.

Among those in attendance were Usher, Queen Latifah, Don King, Q-Tip, John Legend, Jay-Z, Will Smith, Jada Pickett Smith, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Rock, Flava Flav, Russell Simmons, Salt, of Salt-N-Pepa and Rosie Perez.

Age Difference Is Not An Excuse To Cheat!

In the highly publicized split and pending divorce between Demi Moore, 49, and her 33-year-old husband Ashton Kutcher, media reports are suggesting their 16 year age differences led to the couple’s demise.

Of course that’s a bunch of bullshit in my opinion, especially since Kutcher was well aware of he and Demi’s age difference when he took his vows and said “I Do” to her six years ago… Yes he’s young and Demi should’ve known he was bound to change.

The rumors began with reports that Ashton had gone astray while on a night out partying in San Diego the night before his sixth wedding anniversary, while his wife Demi was working in New York. Rumor also had it that Sara Leal, 22, a local administrative assistant, was the other woman. When Ashton denied rumors that he had cheated and started to appear in public with Demi as if nothing ever happened, Leal came out and revealed details of her and Ashton’s affair.

Leal revealed to US Weekly, that she met Ashton at San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel, that he claimed he was separated, and that she had sex with him. Twice. “He was like, ‘I enjoy things like this because I’m an actor 90 percent of the time and it’s fake. It’s nice to have moments that are real”.

Demi apparently found out the truth and has filed for divorce.

So to my loyal little CEO reader Nicole, infidelity ended Ashton and Demi’s marriage not their age differences sweetie.
