Michelle Obama Covers Vogue Magazine

Michelle-Obama-covers-Vogue

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama talk to Jonathan Van Meter about their life as parents, their marriage, and their vision for America’s families.

In the in-depth article, Mrs. Obama, and her husband Barack, discuss their lives together and how his presidency has drastically altered the dynamics of their marriage.

The president often forgets that the world doesn’t revolve around him. Barack says Mrs. Obama constantly reminds him to make time for their daughters, Malia and Sasha:

And what Michelle has done is to remind me every day of the virtues of order.” The First Lady lets out a big laugh. “Being on time. Hanging up your clothes. Being intentional about planning time with your kids. In some ways I think . . . we’re very different people, and some of that’s temperamental, some of it is how we grew up. Michelle grew up in a model nuclear family: mom, dad, brother… My mother was this wonderful spirit, and she was adventurous but not always very well-organized. And, so, what that means is that I’m more comfortable with change and adventure and trying new things, but the downside of it is, sometimes—particularly when we were early on in our marriage—I wasn’t always thinking about the fact that my free-spirited ways might be having an impact on the person I’m with. And conversely, early in our marriage, Michelle provided this sense of stability and clarity and certainty about things, but sometimes she resisted trying something new just because it might seem a little scary or push her out of her comfort zone. I think what we’ve learned from each other is that sense of. . . .” “Balance,” she says. “There’s no doubt I’m a better man having spent time with Michelle. I would never say that Michelle’s a better woman, but I will say she’s a little more patient

“Loving Your Bodies” as it is…tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Dr.Clark_COS

Ladies, as we are in the midst of celebrating the history of woman this month, we must deal with the downside of being a woman. Many of us have hidden insecurities and annoying little dislikes about ourselves. Some of us diet endlessly, while considering different surgeries to alter our body images and appearances, instead of loving ourselves as we are.

Wednesday on “Conversations Of A Sistah“, my guest is Dr. Felicia Clark, life coach, author and former Plus-Size Cover Model, who is the nation’s leading scholar on Body Terrorism. Dr. Clark  will discuss with me the big business of low self-esteem and talk about how advertisers use science and emotional manipulation to make us feel inadequate. Dr. Clark believes many of our social problems as a Community are attributable to this type of persuasion.

Join me Wednesday at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” on “Conversations Live” as I discuss “Loving your bodies as it is” with the fabulous Dr. Felicia Clark.

As usual, we invite you to send your questions or comments for Dr. Clark to the show @conversations@optonline.net

You can access the show at any of “Conversations Links” in this post.

As usual I’m hoping to meet you all on the air.

Former Detroit Mayor going back to jail!!!

Kwame Kilpatrick

Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was found guilty of multiple counts of racketeering and extortion, a jury decided Monday. Kilpatrick was convicted of 24 charges, including racketeering, extortion, attempted extortion, bribery, mail fraud, wire fraud and filing false tax returns. Both Kilpatrick and contractor Bobby Ferguson were found guilty on most counts. Kilpatrick’s 71-year-old father, Bernard Kilpatrick, was only found guilty of one tax count.

Jurors deliberated for 15 days before announcing that they were ready to vote on a verdict. The 12 members of this jury have spent 79 hours total deliberating all the details from the five-month trial.

All three men maintained stoic exteriors as the verdicts were read over seven minutes’ time. The former Detroit mayor was convicted of 24 out of 30 total charges. Contractor Bobby Ferguson was convicted of nine out of 11 total counts. The jury reached a unanimous decision on 45 of 50 total felony charges levied by prosecutors.

A bond hearing for all three men will take place this afternoon. According to the Detroit Free Press, the U.S. Attorney’s Office will ask that the three men will be detained while the appeal process occurs. Sentencing will likely not occur for several months.

Woman preaching with her breast exposed

My business administrator saw this video posted on my Facebook page yesterday and forwarded it to me for my opinion and response.

First of all, the woman in the video is being called a preacher but her title can’t be officially established, anyone can preach the Word of God and the devil knows scripture better than the best preachers. The Bible says to “try the Spirit and know whether it be of God” 1 John: 4:1.

In order to deliver anyone lost, you must first speak the Word of truth and she is indeed speaking truth, watered down with a bunch of Amen’s however, her breast are inappropriately exposed. The Bible states; for women to dress modestly that means, in a proper, well-mannered fashion—certainly not in a provocative, outlandish or excessive way. This woman in the video is clearly out-of-place, which probably explains why she’s sitting in somebody’s kitchen and not standing in the platform of a church or institution.

She calls her ministry, “the gospel from a stripper’s pole”

Her message is: “A Forked Tongue” deliver me from these back door preachers!
