Meet Chef and Queen of Cuisine, Mamie Gailes, Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Mamie_T_Gailes

As I’ve always stated before, we all have gifts to share and some of us were trained, ordained or taught to sustain such gifts. When we emanate our parents they pass the torch with these gifts, so that we can continue their legacy in some way or another.

This is the case with Mamie T. Gailes (pictured above), her love of cooking has been passed down from generation to generation. Her grandmother was an excellent cook and so was her mother and she is carrying this torch of talent because of her love for cooking from these women in her life.

Cooking is more than just mixing up ingredients. It’s about sharing my love for food with everyone I meet.

My zeal comes from my Mom (Bessie L. Thomas) she put so much passion into everything that she cooked.

Now it’s my turn to give you the finest, freshest & most flavorful meal that a Chef can serve.

Mamie catered my very first book signing for my staff and the food was awesome to say the least. She comes from a family with a talent for the kitchen and a creativity in their desired fields of expertise.

Now owner, operator and proprietor of “Mama’s with a Spoon” a full-serviced family owned personal chef and catering business located in Bergen County, NJ. Mama’s specialize in Personal Chef services such as; family reunions, weddings, social events, business luncheons, birthday celebrations, grand-openings and/or any event where food and people come together.

Our mission at Mama’s with a Spoon is to provide each client with fresh food, creative menus, and stylish decor with a commitment to excellence in service, planning and food quality.

Don’t her Southern rolls look good?

Conversations Of A Sistah, Relationships

What You need to know about family…Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

quotes-for-family

There’s the whole family, that one family, the extended family, the immediate family, the close-knit family and those who make up the family; either way we all have one or we all have some. My extended families have always been close, depending on whose side of the family you’re talking about.

My father’s side of the family was always peace makers, while my mother’s side was all hell takers. Meaning, they’d take you to hell by the way you would be provoked into responding to them. Some of them are loud, wild and bodacious, while my father’s side of the family, were always quiet, easy going and mellow. When my father’s family get together you can expect laughter, a good time and cheers, while from my mother’s side, discord, whispers and tears. My brother would always say, at one of their barbecue’s you don’t know whether to pack a pistol or bring the punch.

Well this weekend, I’ll have the esteemed pleasure of hosting our family reunion here in the great state of New Jersey, where we have relatives traveling from near and far. And despite the frustrations and challenges of bringing everyone together, there’s something I have learned about family.

Joined me tonight at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A SistahviaConversations Liveas I talk about family… A topic for which we all can relate….And if there is anything you’d like to share about your family, I’ll be taking your phone calls at 1-347-426-3645.

See you on the air!!!

Exploring the skills and talents of dynamic human beings, take on a forum all it’s own. When God created us, He did so with a purpose and talent in mind. We all have something in this world to contribute and those individuals with God given skills and talents are making their dreams a reality by living their lives with purpose.

By the same token, Selena includes messages of hope, love and forgiveness, which she believes are the qualities to help heal a broken America.

Selena has written three best-selling books, and her new release, Riding the Waves is a sequel that addresses the life of childhood stars and the price of fame and fortune.

Bobbi Kristina Brown: wanted to play the role of Whitney Houston

bobbi1f-1-web

In Angela Bassett’s upcoming production of her mother’s life however, Angela Bassett felt otherwise stating “I did not think about casting her”

Bassett, who is making her directorial debut with the Lifetime movie, told Entertainment Weekly on June 26. that she never considered Bobby Kristina for the role of her mother Whitney Houston “And probably for a number of reasons”.

“One being that she’s not an actress,” she continued. “I know she’s acted here and there. I know she’s been on their family’s reality show, but she’s not an actress and acting is a craft.”

Well Bobbi Kristina didn’t take Angela’s diss very well, so she took to her twitter page blasting Angela Bassett for her comments, even calling the well-known actress a “BITCH“.

“Ha MsAng ‘bassketcase’ has such a damn nerve my lord,” “At least the world doesn’t mistake me for the wrong sex … she has some #XtraEquipment.” Brown continued “When I win my first Grammy or Oscar, *Shrugs* hmm whichever comes 1st, I’ll be sure 2shout URname out b—h!” she continued. “Hah UrTestResults = Male. Lmao.”

The film will explore Houston’s relationship with the embittered daughter’s father, Bobby Brown. Bassett starred opposite Whitney Houston in Terry McMillan’s “Waiting to Exhale“.

There are lyrical artist popping up everywhere and rushing this generation by displaying their style and lyrical talents with a passion. Many emulate while adding their own flare to their music, while others are just gifted to flow.

Some artist handle the microphone and audience like pro’s and this is what I discovered when I heard and witnessed Val DeGrain, a young artist who graced the stage at an open MIC event, I attended a couple of months ago.

Val just released his new CD “2 cents” on April 20, 2014.

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live” as we talk about Val’s lyrical inspirations and the wide use of the “N” word in SOME of his music.
