The Reason For The Season…Is Christmas commercialized?

Christmas_Wallpaper_Presents-1

Jesus is the real reason for the Christmas season, yet we get all caught up in the price tag of gifts, the gift giving, the crowded stores, shopping and the excitement this season bring. But do we pause to give thanks? Thanks for family, friends, life, health, strength and all things being possible.

Do we realize that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Christ? Christ was born because God had an ultimate plan for man. Do we realize that He (Jesus Christ) was the real gift to man?

Join me this Thursday December 20th at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” on “Conversations Live” for my last show of the year, where I will expound on the topic: “Is Christmas commercialized?”.

You can send us your emails at: conversationsofasistah@readywriterproductioncompany.com and tell us if you “keep Christ” in Christmas?

How do you conduct yourself at your corporate holiday parties? Thursday on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Holiday parties
Holiday parties

Tis the season for holiday parties, expected bonuses and over indulging. The time of year when individuals in corporate and private employment sectors have their annual holiday Christmas parties. A setting where you are sure to find out the “other side” of the people you work with, especially when alcohol is freely flowing. And when people start drinking and having a good time, it altars their personality, changes their attitude and boost their mood considerably. Have you witnessed these transformations from your co-workers and colleagues?

This is what happens when you over-indulge, over-indulging may be the number one cause of inappropriate remarks and behavior at these holiday office parties. Remember, you have to face all of these people when you go back to work, so it’s important to leave a good impression but some people don’t!!!!

Here are the following DON’T’s at your holiday party:

  • Find out before your office party what most people are wearing. You don’t want to show up in a casual outfit if everyone else is dressed to the nines. Make sure your spouse or date has this information.
  • Be conservative in your dress if you are a woman. Shockingly short dresses or low plunging necklines are not appropriate for this type of business occasion. So you don’t want to dress like a hooker.
  • Avoid drinking too much because you don’t want to embarrass yourself.
  • Take a cab home or use a designated driver if you have been drinking because you don’t want to drink and drive.

And we’ll discuss the rest of “Office party etiquette” on “Conversations Of A Sistah” this Thursday December 14th at 8:00 P.M.

So I’m inviting you to join me as I wind down my last two (2) shows of the year onConversations Of A SistahonConversations Live” at 8:00 PM. as we discuss how do you behave at your holiday parties?

As always, we certainly welcome your feedback on this topic here on the CEO’s blog or you can email us at conversationsofasistah@readywriterproductioncompany.com

“A Double-life, Men living on the downlow!” This Thursday on Conversations Of A Sistah

down-low-brothers

They date women out in the open, some even marry to fit into society’s mole of expectancy, then have homosexual relationships on the side; this is considered as “men living on the down low”. Then you have those single men, who keep the company of women, claim them as girlfriends, talk about marriage but never marry, another strong possibility of a “man living on the down low”.

These men identify and “Front” as heterosexual, but have sex with men; some avoid sharing this information even if they have female sexual partners. Some people call it being slick but I call it being SICK!!!!

In today’s society, homosexuality is frowned upon as living in the norm. Man on man action is considered a perversion regardless of how many rights and privileges they fight to obtain. Due to these fighting issues and strong controversies, men who desire other men live the life of homosexuality behind closed doors. They keep this life a secret because as a “male friend” of mine recently said, “they don’t want to be ridiculed or judged due to the opinions and belief of others”. For this reason down low men don’t want to be under the radar or ostracized for being GAY, so they stay “in the closet” or down low.

Ondrea FB

Pictured here, is the beautiful Miss Ondrea L. Davis, author of the book, “How could my husband be GAY?” Ondrea, 35, is not only an author and speaker but the mother of three children, who has penned this inspirational true story; not only because her husband was gay but because she felt “this was an issue no one else wanted to talk about.”

Oh but on “Conversations Of A Sistah” we’re going to “talk about it!!!!” This will be an explosive conversation that you won’t want to miss!

Ondrea has expressed, that she will take whatever questions you may have for her regarding this topic for the show. In fact, Ondrea “welcomes your questions” those questions within reason, of course.

So tune into “Conversations Of A Sistah” this Thursday night, December 6, 2012 at 8:00 PM on “Conversations Live“.

As usual you can sound off here or send your questions to Ondrea for the show at conversationsofasistah@readywriterproductincompany.com

You can access the show at any of the “Conversation” links in this post or follow the link for my show segment here!

Side note: The photo of the two men (in bed) above, are in no way related to my guest mentioned in this post or the title of her book. The photo was randomly chosen for this post, to fit my topic for this week; point…blank…period!

Alex Hargrove (AKA Lexy) …is the winner of tonight’s trivia question and will recieve a complimentary copy of Ondrea Davis’ book, “How could my husband be GAY?”

Congratulations Alexis! And thank you for tuning in!

Conversations Of A Sistah, Vote

In 2013, “Conversations Of A Sistah” will be “moving”!!!

COS_Moving

“Conversations Of A Sistah” on “Conversations Live” will be moving from Thursday nights at 8:00 PM to either Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights at 8:00 PM as of January 2013.

Producer and Conversations Media Mogul, Cyrus Webb is moving my segment to make room for his upcoming Book show that will be taking that Thursday Blog talk radio evening slot.

Any who… I don’t know what to do, so I need the help of my readers and listeners, what day of the week do you think I should choose? Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights?? My segment will air at the same time (8:00 PM) just a different day.

Cast your vote below as many times as you’d like and I’ll announce the dominating choice on my last show of the year on Thursday, December 20th at 8:00 PM.

Note: While I always encourage the dialogue, please RESPECT each others “vote and rights” to each others opinions. Let’s keep our comments all in fun, while awaiting a fair outcome.
