Internationally known motivational speaker Myles Munroe and his family are feared dead, as it is being reported that his private plane crashed trying to land at the Grand Bahamas International airport Sunday night in the Bahamas.

Nine passengers were aboard the Learjet when it crashed around 5 p.m. local time after departing Lynden Pindling International airport in the Bahamas capital of Nassau. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, though there had been heavy rain across the region.

Munroe, a 60-year-old Bahamas native, is the published author of more than 100 spiritual and inspirational works and was traveling to lead his Global Leadership Forum. He is also a government and business consultant to Fortune 500 businesses, according to a biography on the Ministries website.

The Global Leadership Forum will continue as scheduled, according to a statement released by Munroe’s Facebook page. “This is what Dr. Munroe would have wanted. Please keep this family and the ministry in prayers,” a spokesperson wrote.

The names of the victims and the cause of the crash were not immediately known.

Republicans Gain Full Control Of The House And Senate For First Time In 8 Years

Obama-covers-NYPost-550x616

The GOP has officially gained control of both the House and the Senate following the results of Tuesday’s mid-term elections.

A Republican tide ripped the Senate away from Democrats Tuesday, giving the GOP full control of Congress and the power to pin down President Barack Obama during his last two years in office.

The thumping win upends the balance of power between the White House and Capitol Hill only six years after Obama’s Democrats swept to power and marginalized Republicans in a rush to reform health care, Wall Street and pass a huge stimulus package.

Now, it’s Democrats who will take the back seat on Capitol Hill, relying mostly on the power of the filibuster to stymie Republicans and keep Obama’s legacy intact.

House Speaker John Boehner, celebrating a widened majority, said this:

“I am humbled by the responsibility the American people have placed with us.”

“But this is not a time for celebration,” he said. “It’s time for government to start getting results and implementing solutions to the challenges facing our country, starting with our still-struggling economy.”

Sounds like this is going to be an interesting and long two years.

Chicago Teacher Calls Students “NIGGERS” After They Ask Not To Be Called African-American

n-word1

According to the Huffington post:

Last week, an Illinois substitute teacher reportedly called a group of four middle school girls the N-word after they asked not to be called African-American.

The incident occurred at Jay Stream Middle School in the town of Carol Stream during an eighth-grade social studies class. When interviewed by local news outlet WMAQ, student Mea Thompson, who is of Jamaican descent, said they asked the teacher not to call them African-American since none of them are from Africa.

“She said, ‘It’s the politically correct term.’ Then she said, ‘Well, back then you guys would be considered the N-word,'” Thompson said, recalling the exchange. “We were so shocked and we were like, ‘What? Excuse me? That’s not correct to call us that.’ She was like, ‘Well, back then that’s what African-Americans were called.’”

The teacher allegedly used the N-word several times over the 80-minute class period.

“After the shock and hurt, I’m angry,” Thompson’s mother, Shayna, said. “It’s a new world, and the people of the past that still hang onto hatred and bigotry don’t belong in this world anymore.”

When reached for comment, the District Superintendent William Shields said the events in the classroom are still unclear, but said the teacher would not be returning to the school.

Comedian, Law and order, Lawsuits, Rape

Comedian Bill Cosby…is really a rapist?

Bill Cosby...is a rapist
Bill Cosby…is a rapist

Bill Cosby is best remembered for The Cosby Show, Fat Albert and those Jell-O pudding pop commercials but lately, the comedian who has that ‘father figure’ image is being accused of sexual assault. An image that is contradictory to this voice and message he sends to the black community.

Comedian Hannibal Buress jogged our memory in a stand up routine he did last weekend and reminded us all that Bill Cosby is an accused rapist. Buress homed in during his set Thursday at the Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia (Cosby’s home town).

“And it’s even worse because Bill Cosby has the fucking smuggest old black man public persona that I hate,” Buress said.  “Pull your pants up, black people. I was on TV in the ’80s. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom. Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby. So, brings you down a couple of notches. … I’ve done this bit onstage, and people don’t believe. People think I’m making it up. …That shit is upsetting. If you didn’t know about it, trust me. You leave here and google ‘Bill Cosby rape.’ It’s not funny. That shit has more results than Hannibal Buress.”

Burress is correct!

The myriad allegations leveled against Bill Cosby over the years are no joke. In 2004, Andrea Constand brought a civil lawsuit against Cosby that grew to include 13 other women, all of whom reported being drugged and raped by one of America’s most beloved entertainers. Cosby settled with her under undisclosed terms in 2006.

Notably, two other women — who presumably had nothing to gain financially, as the statute of limitations had run out on their cases — also shared their stories with major media outlets. Their accounts included  similar details: Cosby took them under his wing and, on multiple occasions, fed them alcohol laced with drugs and assaulted them.

And yet, despite the multiple victims and reports of a decades-long streak of rape, America seems to have chosen to forgive and forget. Completing the circle of denial, Cosby’s new biography conspicuously omits his sexual assault allegations, as if they never happened. Cosby and his lawyers are slick, they prove that with money and power, incidents like this can be swept and kept under a rug.

So there it is people, Dr. Huxtable — America’s dad — isn’t that lovable television character “in real life” who visited your living rooms week after week. The man is a slick accused rapist. His time is up though and I believe his season of exposure has come. Why? Because in time, God reveals all things.
