“No Indictment in Eric Gardner case”

Yesterday a Staten Island grand jury decided “NOT” to indict police office Daniel Pantaeleo in the choke hold death of Eric Garner. What is shocking to most, is that we all saw the same video and witnessed Garner dying on a sidewalk right before our very eyes.

This New York grand jury’s decision comes just 2 weeks off the heels of another grand jury’s decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson in the killing of Mike Brown in Ferguson, MO. This sends a clear message to people of color everywhere that police officers are not indicted for taking the lives of black men and young black boys in this country.

Protestors quickly took to the streets of New York blocking traffic in Times Square, Union Square, Battery Park, Henry Hudson Parkway, while lying down in Grand Central Station just in time for rush hour commuters.

The scenarios are all to familiar and somewhat the same however, let’s take a look at the high profile police shootings in this country to date. These are just some injustices, as I’m sure there are many we are not aware of:

  1. John Crawford in Beavercreek, Ohio killed in a Walmart because he was holding a fake gun.
  2. Tamir Rice a 12 year old who was fatally shot by a rookie police officer Tim Loehman playing with a fake gun in a park.
  3. Sean Bell shot and killed on November 26, 2006 leaving his bachelor party at a Queens bar in New York.
  4. Amadou Diallo shot and killed in a hail of 19 of 41 bullets outside his Bronx apartment on February 4, 1999.
  5. Trayvon Martin, 17 year old, shot, killed and pursued by a Florida neighborhood watchman on February 26, 2012 because he was judged as a “young thug” because he was wearing a hoodie.
  6. Oscar Grant III, shot and killed by a BART police officer in Oakland, CA on New Years Eve 2009.
  7. Michael Brown shot and killed August 9, 2014 in Ferguson, MO by police officer Darren Wilson.
  8. Eric Garner, the 43 year old, Staten Island father of 6, died in an illegal choke-hold.

This list is sad but alarming, for we will never have peace when justice is DENIED.

Black men are being killed unjustly by policemen throughout the country, but should ‘black on black’ crime be the real focus of outrage? Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

Justice is long overdue and it hasn’t stopped demonstrators from seeking it, not just for Michael Brown but for Trayvon Martin, Eric Gardner, Sean Bell, John Crawford, Tamir Rice and the list goes on. Demonstrators are blocking parades, lying down in the streets, standing in traffic on highways, laying down on sidewalks and disrupting shoppers shopping at malls.

But for some critics this rage and outcry for justice is misplaced. The anger and outrage is un-necessarily exaggerated. And according to former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, who—after President Obama spoke on Ferguson—told CNN that “[Obama] should have also spent 15 minutes on training the [black] community to stop killing each other.” —“Where is all the outrage over black-on-black crime?” Why is the question always raised whenever black Americans protest a police shooting, or any other violence against unarmed black men?

Join me tonight at 6:30 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via Blog Talk radio as I address how “Black on black crime is relevant to police brutality and civil unrest”, with my special guest Dr. Kenneth Osborn, an expert on behavioral health and corrections for more than twenty (20) years and author of the book, “When Mama was daddy”.

Hands Up – Don’t Shoot!!! Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

KYD_Works_Hands Up

On Tuesday evening a Ferguson Missouri special grand jury, hand picked by the County Prosecutor, Robert McCulloch failed to indict policeman Darren Wilson for the killing of an unarmed black teen. The announcement of “no indictment” came after 8:00 PM and sparked outrage in the streets of Ferguson and throughout cities across the U.S.

Michael Brown was killed by Wilson on August 9 with his hands raised in the universal symbol of surrender and retreat. It was later revealed that Brown yelled “Don’t shoot!” before he was gunned down in a hail of 10 bullets.

Join me tonight at 6:30 PM on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via Blog Talk Radio.com as my guest, hip-hop lyricist K.Y.D. Works (Hassan Barrow), return to the show to talk about his organization’s crusade to help end an epidemic of gun violence that is killing our people and prevalent in our communities. And to discuss with me, how the lost lives of black males in this country have been on the rise.

Mike Brown, Police, Police Shooting

Ferguson Awaits as grand jury has reached it’s decision.

Ferguson

The grand jury has been meeting for more than three months now and has been released as the announcement is due to come in the Michael Brown shooting shortly. Law enforcement all over the country are on alert based upon the pending outcome of their decision, as to whether or not policeman Darren Wilson will be indicted for killing the unarmed teen.

Michael Brown was shot and killed by Wilson on August 9th in Ferguson, Missouri in a barbaric manner.

In the meantime, businesses, office buildings have all been boarded up, schools will have early dismissal, while Ferguson police officers along with the National Guard is on hand to subdue any outbreaks of violence brought on by disruptive protest.

The Brown family has been notified of the grand jury’s decision and their press conference will come immediately following.

Stay tuned.

TV Land Pulls Cosby Show From Line-Up Amid Growing Allegations.

bill-cosby

I haven’t seen, read or heard of so many women coming forward in a scandal this wide since the Tiger Woods sex scandal a couple of Thanksgivings ago. But some fourteen (14) woman have come forward and accused the world’s most famous father figure of some very strong and disturbing rape allegations.

All of the women who are coming out and sharing their stories about their ordeal with comedian Bill Cosby, all share the same pattern of assault; being plowed with alcohol and drugged with pills to the extent of little or no comprehension of what was happening.

Aside from settling a case in 2006 with one of his victims for an undisclosed amount of money, Cosby has never been formally charged with any of the allegations now swirling around him.

Why didn’t these women speak out or file charges against Bill Cosby when it all happened? Is the question and thought on the minds of most. When you’ve been assaulted or intend to bring such allegations against someone so famous, holding the reputation of the world’s most famous, squeaky clean dad, who’s going to believe you? And having power, money and fame, can influence and persuade the best of them. As one victim stated, “Cosby raped her the night before and was in a children’s hospital the next day speaking to children and handing out gifts”. He was smart like that and simply untouchable.

Seems as though Bill Cosby’s luck is running out and now he’s being cancelled left and right. TV Land has cancelled and removed “The Cosby Show” from it’s lineup, NBC has scrapped plans for Cosby’s come back show in the fall and Netflix is postponing a new comedy special as well.

Appearances by Cosby on shows including Late Night With David Letterman and The Queen Latifah Show have also been cancelled as accusations against the comedian mount.

Goes to show you, living the opposite of what you present, pisses God OFF! And He will always expose the TRUTH in due season.
