The ReadyWriter

You remember Daryl Harris who stopped by our studios on February 28th to aid in the discussion on “Why Blacks Don’t Support Black Businesses?“ (<-click the link here if you don’t remember the show). Well anyway, he and his brothers hosted a fabulous grand opening on Saturday evening April 14, 2018.

The grand opening marked the official opening of the store’s location at 92 Washington Street in the city of Paterson, NJ.

Accompanied by his two brothers in the pic up-top, Timothy (middle) and Anthony (Tony on the right), the men were flooded by family, friends, fellow artist, entrepreneurs and members from the community who came out in support of this well planned endeavor. The art gallery’s location in the pristine downtown area of the city, is prime location for shoppers delight.

The well wishers munched on sweetish meatballs, potato salad, cupcakes and varies drinks, while others in the crowd congregated near the entrance too cool off from the store’s sweltering heat.

To wish my brothers much success, I did what we all are suppose to do at a grand opening…and that is SHOP!!! You shop to support the business and that’s exactly what I did and I’m inviting you to do the same. So browse their website for some choice art collections and decorative shower curtains on their website at 4kingsart.com

Protests and Outrage after two black men arrested at Philly Starbucks

The ReadyWriter

Protesters gathered outside a Philadelphia Starbucks on Sunday and planned to regroup again on today after two black men were arrested there last week when they allegedly refused to leave.

The original incident occurred last Thursday, when a Starbucks employee called 911 because two black men were sitting inside the café. Soon after they arrived, police handcuffed the men and escorted them out of the shop. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross, who is black, said the men hadn’t purchased anything and refused to leave, which led to the arrest. Yet a protesting white women said, she’s walks in all the time to use the restroom without purchasing anything and was never arrested.

A video of the arrest and ensuing confusion went viral on Twitter.

Michelle Saahene witnessed the entire event, as she’d been at the Starbucks for nearly an hour. She told NBC News on Sunday that, as a black woman, she was slightly nervous when the police officers entered the coffee shop, but she was then shocked as the two men when they were approached by police officers.

After the two men were refused the bathroom, they just sat at a table silently and played with their phones as they waited for a friend, Saahene told NBC News.

“The cops were asking them to leave because they weren’t purchasing anything,” Saahene said. “[The two men] said they were confused. This is a Starbucks. Since when are people asked to leave a Starbucks who are just sitting there?”

Saahene said that a white man sitting next to her had been at the Starbucks for 30 minutes without making a purchase and a jogger came in and used the bathroom without making a purchase.

That’s one of the reasons she felt compelled to approach the employee who called 911.

“’Did you feel threatened’?” she said she asked the Starbucks barista. “She didn’t look at me. ‘Did you feel like your life was threatened?’ She still didn’t look at me.”

Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson swiftly apologized that the 911 call was made and that the two men were arrested. He said that the company planned to investigate the matter and retrain its staff, but said the store manager “never intended for these men to be arrested and this should never have escalated as it did.”

Unfortunately it’s too late! We’re sounding the call to boycott “StarBucks” everywhere.!!

Celebrity Kids: Charlize Theron and Son Jackson Theron

The ReadyWriter

Why is Charlize Theron dressing her adopted son like a girl? Paparazzi images of Charlize and her son Jackson Theron sparked outrage when the images were posted on March 20th. The photos show 6-year-old Jackson wearing a schoolgirl uniform with his short hair held by a blue headband. People are outraged that Charlize for emasculating Jackson.

The images are disturbing. What parent in their right mind would dress their son like a little girl? No one knows what’s going on behind closed doors in the Theron household, but in a recent interview with ELLE magazine, Charlize referred to her mother as a “bitch,” and her adopted children as “little assholes”.

Why adopt children to abuse them? African America children at that…

Trump likes “Golden Showers” According to Former FBI Director James Comey

The ReadyWriter

President Donald Trump called former FBI director James Comey an ‘untruthful slime ball’ and ‘a PROVEN LEAKER AND LIAR’ who ‘should be prosecuted’ for putting classified information in view of the media.

James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired,’ Trump wrote on Twitter. ‘He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH.

Trump’s extraordinary tweet, an unprecedented moment in American history, came after excerpts from a televised interview were broadcast on national television, with Comey saying it’s ‘possible’ the most salacious detail in the anti-Trump ‘dirty dossier’ is true. Comey said in advance of next week’s high-profile book release that despite having access to the nation’s most sensitive law-enforcement intelligence for years, he still can’t dismiss the possibility that Trump was involved with ‘golden showers‘ a sex act with prostitutes five years ago in Moscow.

The ‘golden showers‘ accusation first came to light in an unproven dossier of opposition-research material paid for by the Democratic Party and the Hillary Clinton campaign and handed to the FBI during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Comey said he never told Trump that his political adversaries had funded the work, but warned him during a ‘really weird’ post-election meeting that the information was circulating at the top levels of the federal government.

‘It was almost an out-of-body experience for me,’ he said. ‘I was floating above myself looking down saying, “You’re sitting here briefing the incoming President of the United States about prostitutes in Moscow”.’

Comey suggested the claim was still unproven but hedged his bets, saying only that ‘when I got fired it was unverified.’ Which is probably why Trump fired him.

He said he never told Trump that he didn’t believe it ‘because I couldn’t say one way or another.’

President Signs Executive Order Mandating Poor People Work or Lose ‘Welfare’

The ReadyWriter

Without much fanfare (totally apropos, given what’s been happening in the world of the White House in the last 72 hours), President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday that will force recipients of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, Medicaid and low-income housing subsidies to find work or lose their assistance.

Trump quietly signed the long-anticipated order, oddly named “Reducing Poverty in America by Promoting Opportunity and Economic Mobility.” Given that many government agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services, have already begun issuing waivers to Republican governors who want to impose stricter work requirements on Medicaid recipients to cut costs, it will not make much of an impact, according to the New York Times.

The fact remains that most able-bodied adults who receive federal aid in the form of subsidized health care or housing already work—but are still unable to make ends meet; others receive exemptions for legitimate reasons.

Trump also reportedly wants to change the word “welfare” to include not only cash payments but also food and medical benefits (SNAP and Medicaid).

Or he just doesn’t give AF. And I quote: “Mr. Trump, several aides said, is unconcerned—or perhaps even unaware—of the distinction between cash assistance and other safety-net programs … he calls them all welfare.”

President Trump has no clue of how average Americans live, nor is he privy or empathetic to the everyday challenges of an average family. For those who have been riding the system for years, the president’s goal is to trim the fat, cut the gravy and stop the train.
