I saw this post by Keishorne Scott the other day on IG, as to why men don’t marry?

You are all familiar with Scott who has been a featured guest on “Conversations Of A Sistah“. Well I must take the relationship guru to task and beg to differ a bit because you have some single women who feel the exact same way. In that there is nothing in marrying for them accept to become a man’s house servant, baby maker, porn star and/or waitress.

So what exactly does marriage offer women today? Because I know some women who have lost themselves after they marry, let alone their freedom.

So……the exact can be said about why some women choose to remain single.

The women of today are educated, independent and accomplished and cautious about who they settle with as a mate. Some women are unmarried because there are several factors that come into play concerning what they would have to give up for taking on a partner in holy matrimony. The more women accomplish, the less likely they are inclined to settle for someone who could potentially ruin all they’ve built and acquired financially.

Women are just as cautious concerning entering into a legal contract with someone who could potentially slaughter all that they’ve worked hard for and gained.

Women aren’t wimping out either, they are being just as smart as men when it comes down to entering into the legal contract of marriage, especially since both sexes can have a hidden agenda.

Target Apologizes for “Baby Daddy” Father’s Day Cards

Was it really the thought behind the Afrocentric-themed “Baby Daddy” Father’s Day cards that counted? Not everyone appreciated the creative line of cards that celebrated unmarried Black fathers and deadbeat dads who abandon their baby mamas for father’s day.

The term “Baby daddy” was popularized in the hit song “My Baby Daddy” by one-hit-wonders B-Rock and the Bizz.

Target pulled the cards by greeting card company American Greetings after Black Twitter heaped scorn and ridicule in retweets of the card.

The cards were sold in about 900 stores across the country.

“We want all guests to feel welcomed and respected when they shop at Target,” Target spokesperson Joshua Thomas said in a statement to USA Today on Thursday.

American Greetings employs diverse artists to create cards that target minorities.

“This particular card was created for, and addressed to, a loving husband — which the inside copy makes clear,” the card publisher said in a statement, adding:

“However, we now see that the front page, taken out of context, can communicate an unintentional meaning that we are strongly against perpetuating and is not consistent with our company purpose and values.”

The retailer promised to “do better” in the future.

Incarcerated Ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Begs Trump to Commute His Sentence

Former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who is serving 28 years in prison, is pleading with President Donald Trump to commute his sentence to time served.

Kilpatrick is motivated since President Trump pardoned filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza (who was thrown into prison by the Justice Department under the Obama administration) and a 63-year-old grandmother who was sentenced to life in prison on drug charges as a first offender.

Kilpatrick, 47, was sentenced in 2013 to serve 28 years in prison on multiple counts of extortion, bribery, conspiracy and racketeering.

The former mayor was accused of funneling cash bribes into secret bank accounts and diverting city funds into his own pockets.

Kilpatrick, who served as Detroit mayor from 2001 to 2008, also placed his father and other family members on the city’s payroll, as well as enriched his friends who helped him get elected.

If Trump ignores his request, Kilpatrick will languish behind bars until 2037.

When a couple remain married after an affair, the victim’s self-confidence is gone.  After all, how can the one who’s been betrayed give their cheating spouse everything that the affair partner could – the excitement, the fresh conversation, the sex, the attention, etc.? After-all, self-esteem, self-concept and self-confidence are all very similar and somewhat related.

When a woman has been betrayed by her husband’s infidelity, no amount of words or healing can compete with the inner most thoughts in her mind. That woman is constantly trying to convince friends, family and the world that there’s happiness and tranquility in the midst of her forgiveness. This seems to be the case with Beyonce and jay Z of late, with nude pics surfacing online and throughout social media, attempting to share with the world how solid their love is.

This is a bit much but what’s the real issue here?

The infamous couple known as Beyonce and rap artist Jay-Z, leaked partially nude photos online — further tarnishing Beyonce’s carefully cultivated public image.

Word on the street is that, ticket sales to their ‘On The Run 2’ world tour are at an all time low. So Beyonce is forced to stage stunts to fill more stadium seats.

I guess desperate times really call for desperate measures. Hell, I’m even shocked that they’ve stooped to this all-time low.
