When The Engagement Ring ain’t nothing but a thing…Tonight on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

ashlee-simpson2

Aw it’s so nice when two people fall in love and really want to spend the rest of their lives together. They may have a long-term courtship before the man decides to spring for a ring and sometimes under different circumstances. Some women are willing to cross the Atlantic ocean and lay down their lives just to get that ring!

The ring for some women serve the purpose as a status quo, they’d like to feel as though their ten, twelve, thirteen and/or twenty-five plus year courtship is going to another level. When in fact it’s really going nowhere, except to your weekly rendezvous at your local motel 6, hanging out at his place or your yearly get-aways to a remote location.

Sometimes the buck stops with the engagement ring and the relationship goes no further. Why is that? What happened to the man’s intent behind the giving of the ring? Did he just give you the ring to “get that thing“? And are you satisfied with wearing this “front?”

Tune into “Conversations Of A Sistah“ tonight at 8:00 PM as I discuss how SOME engagement rings ain’t nothing but a thing! Access the show via “Conversations Live“.

A hot mess!, Pat Robertson, Televangelist, Wrong advice

Evangelist Pat Robertson tells wife with cheating husband to be grateful she has him!

Pat Robertson

This man is definitely not standing on the principles of God and I pray to God that this woman didn’t heed his advice as her final resolve. Proof ladies and gentlemen that you lean on God for direction not man!!!

Televangelist Pat Robertson told the wife of a cheating husband during Wednesday’s episode of his daily television program, ‘The 700 Club “To stop talking about the cheating. He cheated on you, well, he’s a man.”

The infamous evangelist was responding to a letter he had received from a woman who had admitted to struggling  with forgiveness.

The evangelist advised the woman saying the following:

  • To stop focusing on her  husband cheating because that is the ‘tendency of man’
  • He also suggested it wasn’t the man’s fault  as modern society is filled with temptations
  • The wife was told ‘to make a home so wonderful that he doesn’t want to wander’
  • ‘Thank God that you have a marriage that is  together and that you live in America and good things are  happening,’ said Robertson

The bottom line, he told her to get over her man’s infidelity and start doing more to ensure he doesn’t have reason to wander. You can never tell a married man or woman how to handle the infidelity of a spouse but you sure as hell don’t tell them to accept it as it is the highest form of disrespect. Disrespect for the marriage and the spouse, which is never acceptable.

Robertson is the same evangelist who said “God told him Mitt Romney would win the Presidential election” And we all see how that turned out.

Sex… And The Single Mom, Tonite on “Conversations Of A Sistah”

sex&THESINGLE_mom

Single mothers all have different circumstances; some women have children and were never married, some women may have had children and became widowed un-expectantly, while others have had children and then divorced. Regardless of said circumstances the need and desires for a woman remain the same, sex is the bottom line.

For some women, they know what they want in a relationship and having children don’t stop that desire of wanting to hop on another man if the current one isn’t satisfactory. But what about the influences these mothers have on their children? Do multiple relationships set the stage for future problems and the possibility of a generational curse? Is it healthy to expose your child or children to different men?

For those women/single moms who find it impossible to keep those legs closed while you raise your kids, tune in tonight at 8:00 P.M. on “Conversations Of A Sistah” via “Conversations Live“ as I discuss “Sex and the Single Mom“.

Mourners reach out to touch the coffin of James Christopher Kelly as it is wheeled out of the Jackson Memorial Baptist Church in a recessional at the end of his funeral service on Thursday May 9, 2013, in Atlanta.

Kelly died on May 1st at a hospital after collapsing in his home from a cocaine and heroine binge the night before. A toxicology report concluding the rappers cause of death is pending.

Former Kris Kross member Chris Smith and his sister Jennifer Smith (pictured above), begin to weep while speaking at the funeral of Chris Kelly. Smith and Kelly rose to fame after being discovered by Jermaine Dupri at a mall in Atlanta. The group was famous for their signature clothes being worn backwards style and their biggest hit “Jump-Jump”.

Another artist on Durpi’s record label attended the services, rapper Da Brat, pictured here, with her pants worn backwards in honor of Kelly. Chris and Da Brat performed in February marking Jermaine Dupri’s record label’s twentieth anniversary celebration. Does Da Brat look like she’s going to a cook-out or is it just me?

Jermaine Dupri (pictured below) who was of course also in attendance and wearing his jeans backwards in honor of Kelly said “Chris Kelly was like the son he never had“. Dupri was just as shocked to hear of Kelly’s death. Guess he had no clue of what his artist son was into.

Malcolm Shabazz, the troubled grandson of civil rights icon Malcolm X, has been killed in Mexico, the U.S. Embassy there confirms.

The Amsterdam News reports that Shabazz, 28, was thrown off a rooftop after being shot during an attempted robbery on Thursday, May 9.

“I’m confirming, per U.S. Embassy, on behalf of family, the tragic death of Malcolm Shabazz, grandson of Malcolm X. Statement from family 2 come,” tweeted Shabazz family friend Terrie M. Williams on twitter earlier today.

Shabazz was the son of Qubilah Shabazz, the second daughter of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz. He was 12 years old in 1997 when he torched Betty Shabazz’s New York apartment, killing her.

Shabazz pled guilty to arson and was sentenced to 18 months in a juvenile detention center. Shabazz’s sentence was extended due to discipline problems and he was released four years later.

Shabazz later claimed he didn’t set the fire that killed his grandmother.

At the time of his death Shabazz was studying Criminal Justice at John Jay College in New York. It isn’t known why Shabazz was in Mexico. He leaves behind 2 daughters.
