Michael Dunn gets LIFE in Prison!

Michael Dunn (pictured above) was sentenced to life in prison (without parole), after being convicted of first-degree murder for fatally shooting Jordan Davis outside a Jacksonville convenience store.

Dunn tried to stand behind the “Stand your ground” law but the life sentence imposed by Circuit Judge Russell Healey was mandatory for the 47-year-old cold-blooded killer, since prosecutors decided not to seek the death penalty.

“Mr. Dunn, your life is effectively over,” Healey said. “What is sad … is that this case exemplifies that our society seems to have lost its way.”

Evidence showed that Dunn, of Satellite Beach, fired the shots during a heated argument over the volume of music coming from the SUV carrying Davis and three other teenagers. Dunn was convicted of three counts of second-degree murder in his first trial because he continued to fire into the Dodge Durango as the driver tried to flee. Healey on Friday sentenced him to a minimum of 60 years in prison for those charges, to be served consecutively with the life sentence.

Supporters of Jordan Davis and his family filled rows of the courtroom, and many broke into tears, sometimes sobs, as his parents and other family members told Healey how devastating his death had been.

Davis’ mother, Lucia McBath said she always taught her son to love and to forgive.

“Therefore, I too must be willing to forgive and so I choose to forgive you Mr. Dunn for taking my son’s life,” McBath said in court.

Jordan Davis’ father, Ronald Davis, spoke tearfully of holding his son when he was born, then kissing his body one last time at the hospital the night of his death.

“I gave him his first kiss when he came into this world and I could never have imagined giving him his last kiss,” Davis said. “Our family has lost the biggest and the brightest smile of all of us.”

In light of the recent events in the news with the video going viral of NFL player Ray Rice knocking the crap out of his then fiancé, Janay Rice, (who months later became his wife) in an Atlantic City hotel, this incident sparked new conversations concerning Domestic Violence.

Nationally, nearly 10% of all homicides are committed by an intimate partner (spouse, boyfriend and/or girlfriend), according to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting data from 2012. Of all the homicides known to be committed by an intimate partner, 80% of the victims are women.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and for most victims of domestic violence, there is no witness, no camera. For about half, there is no police report. So the extraordinary footage of the Ray Rice incident is shedding new light on a problem hidden behind so many closed doors, which is why Domestic Violence can be so easily masked behind pain.

Second Nurse Diagnosed With Ebola at Dallas Hospital

A second nurse who treated Dallas Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan has been diagnosed with the deadly Ebola virus.

“An additional health care worker testing positive for Ebola is a serious concern, and the CDC has already taken active steps to minimize the risk to health care workers and the patient,” said the CDC in a statement on Wednesday.

Nurses’ unions are not surprised that another health care worker at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital has contracted Ebola. A union rep listed a comedy of errors that occurred at Texas Health — beginning with Duncan being sent home from the hospital with a 103-degree fever on his initial visit on Sept. 25.

A nurses’ union rep told CNN that nurses were not adequately equipped or trained to care for an Ebola patient. She said there was no strict infection control protocol in place to treat patients with Ebola.

And most shocking: she said nurses who treated Duncan were also treating other patients — even patients who had low grade fevers which made them more susceptible to infections!

A total of 76 health care workers came into contact with Duncan, who died on Oct. 8. All are being monitored for signs of Ebola.

Nurse Who Treated Dallas Ebola Patient Tests Positive for Ebola

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta has come under scrutiny for pointing the finger of blame at a nurse who contracted the deadly Ebola virus while caring for an Ebola patent in Dallas.

The nurse, who treated Thomas Eric Duncan in the isolation unit at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, is the 2nd person to be diagnosed with Ebola on U.S. soil. Duncan, who was the first person diagnosed in the U.S., died on Oct. 8.

“Unfortunately it is possible in the coming days that we will see additional cases of Ebola,” Frieden said during a press conference. “Because the health care workers who cared for [Duncan] may have had a breach of the same nature of the [nurse] who appears now to have a preliminary positive test.”

The CDC’s preemptive finger pointing at the health care worker is raising concern among doctors and nurses, who say health care workers are not properly trained to treat patients with Ebola.

Only 4 hospitals in the country have isolation units that specialize in treating and containing infectious diseases like Ebola and Marburg. Still, the White House refuses to order the mandatory transfer of Ebola patients to one of those 4 hospitals for treatment.

The woman behind the rape allegations against Sandy Rubenstein is Iasha Rivers (pictured left) and she is NOT a top aide in the Sharpton administration as being reported in the media however, the woman does and/or DID have ties to the Rev. Al Sharpton.

Sources close to the CEO Blog with former ties to the Sharpton administration confirmed that, Sharpton was not only romantically tied at one point to Rivers in the past but he also secured her current position with Macys as their Director of External Affairs and Corporate Communications.

Rivers is also named on the Board of Directors at the National Action Network.

Seems as though the good, right Rev. Al Sharpton looked out for all the woman he’s had ties too at some point romantically, making sure he secured their permanent positions as trade-offs through his corporate rivals. 

Since the rape allegations has surfaced from a former lover against his pal Rubenstein, Sharpton is doing all he can to distance himself from the scandal by supposedly cutting ties with the swanky attorney. All apart of his efforts to distance himself from this public played drama. He’s making sure that as the shit starts to sling, none gets flung on him.

After all, Al Sharpton has assisted Rubenstein by making sure he secured every civil rights case against the city of New York, so we can only imagine how their secrets must run deep. Especially since Rubenstein was initially just “a work injury lawyer”.
